Qow
Well, for this week we got to decide what topic we wanted to talk about for QOW. It took me couple days to log back into my blog. Someone apparently logged in and changed my password. So my topic would be security. During the week in class we talked about torture and how the united states would torture people that would threaten our security, of us, americans. To what extend would have we take to make ourselves feel secure? Is it right to hurt and torture people for our security? Being secure means feeling safe in the place you living, and not fearing any outcome of some sort of torture. Not fearing or questioning if my call is being hacked or my computer is being drained of my information. We expect security but we should also respect peoples privacy. Security starts when privacy begins. We need to balance things out or we won;t have any security and perhaps more torture.

-Friday's Debate-
On Friday we debated on issue that’s has been grabbing a lot of attention of Americans. On September 11, 2001 we had a terrorist attack on our twin towers in New York. After, the attack many people felt anger and hate towards Islamic people because there were some members of that race in the plane that crashed our twin towers down. It has been said the Islamic people were the terrorist. There have been lots of speculations on building a mosque on ground zero. As a class, we were divided in three groups, for the mosque, indifferent, and against it. I was sitting in the against zone, for the reason being that I believe it’s disrespectful to the people that died on that day. My opinion is that nothing should be built if it’s not a dedication to the people that died and appreciation of the fire fighters that fought on that day and possibly lost there life’s. I’m not against any Islamic people I believe there’s a good in everyone, but I’ll admit I have stereotyped people in the past. I’m pretty sure everyone has and that was in a way a main issue on Friday. The people that were for mosque made a point, there should be and still be freedom of religion. There right, if there can be a Catholic, Christian or any other religion churches why should we be against the Islamic religion. I don’t think, no I know in my part I’m not against Islamic religion. I’m against any building that should be built on ground zero and not be a real dedication to the people that died. At a point in the discussion I was confused and against everything they were saying, but I do think that there shouldn’t be any building of anything on ground zero. I enjoyed the debate everyone has their own opinion and if you listen clear there alot of people that make great points whether there on your side or not. I’m not against any one opinion or faith or anything, I just think we should respect and be more sensitive to the families that lost someone or were affected any kind of way.
